Great Lakes Wild
They make up the largest body of freshwater on the planet, and contain a fifth of the world’s surface fresh water – they’re called the Great Lakes for a reason! More than 3,500 species live in these waters, some are thriving, and some are in big trouble. In Great Lakes Wild we’ll get to meet some of these iconic animals and hear their stories, from the majestic moose population battling with wolves on Isle Royale in Lake Superior, to species struggling for survival like the Peregrine Falcon and the Lake Erie Watersnake. We’ll also meet some unwelcome creatures, like the voracious Asian Carp and the bloodsucking Sea Lamprey. Great Lakes Wild will get you closer than ever before to understanding the creatures that call these waters home.
